The download bar moved slowly. 1%... 4%... 12%... Each percent felt like an hour. Outside, storm clouds gathered over the canyon arena. Rival pilots—those with stolen Fuzor code—already flew overhead, their Zoids merging mid-air with ugly, screeching metal sounds. One wrong fusion tore a Dark Horn in half last week.
The Berserk Führers fired. The Centurion raised a single energy claw. The attack absorbed into its armor like rain into soil.
Kai grinned. No crash. No corruption. Just a pure, elegant code that felt less like a weapon and more like a key. He clicked

Kai's Liger Phoenix stepped forward. Then, from the opposite tunnel, a battered Shield Liger—piloted by his estranged brother, Reno—emerged. They hadn't spoken in two years.
"Normal download, huh?" Reno said.
Later, as the Centurion gently split back into two Ligers, Kai and Reno finally looked at each other—real eyes through cracked visors.
