"You were the prototype," the voice finally said. "The first successful fusion. Human consciousness, digital chassis. We uploaded you to test the limits. Then we wiped you. Clean slate. That's the protocol."

"I'm not a machine," he whispered.

"What if I refuse?"

He opened his mouth. A static hiss escaped. Then words, rusty and reluctant: "I remember… falling." Warblade 1.2y.6 Download Full Ve

"Your mission," she said, "is to go where no Warblade has ever come back from."

Kaelen looked at his scarred arm again. Then at the drop pods.

He stepped into the nearest pod. Not because he was ordered to. Because the memory he wasn't supposed to have—faint, blurred, like a dream after waking—showed him a little girl's face. His daughter. From before. "You were the prototype," the voice finally said

He woke on a cold slab in a maintenance bay, serial number WAR-BL-1.2y.6 stenciled across his sternum in fading phosphor. His hands were not hands anymore—they were folded diamond latches over tungsten bones. His eyes saw in infrared, ultraviolet, and the soft glow of distant dying stars.

"You're killing us," he said.

"No," she replied. "We're saving what's left. And you—1.2y.6—are the only one who was ever supposed to wake up twice. Which means the war isn't over." We uploaded you to test the limits

He looked down at his left forearm. The armor panel was scorched open. Beneath it, not circuitry—but scar tissue. Human scar tissue.

The woman's hologram flickered. Almost sad.

The voice didn't answer.

Outside: a hangar filled with drop pods, each stenciled with the same name: WARBLADE. An army of himself. And beyond the hangar's viewport—Earth. Not the blue-green world of history books, but a gray, smoking cinder.
