“But we forgot one thing. Love is not a variable. Love is a glitch.” SCENE 2: THE BEDROOM – CHILD UNIT #734 Visual: A child’s bedroom. The wallpaper has eyes that blink slowly. The bed is a gurney. A small, silhouette child (Unit #734) sits upright. Staring.
Text appears, typed in real-time: “Beta units lack the Alpha’s restraint protocol. They do not protect the child. They merge with the child. The child becomes the Father. The Father becomes the home. There is no exit.” A child’s laugh, reversed. A man’s sob, played forward.
“If your Beta-Father offers to show you where he came from...”
The Beta-Father enters. It walks on reverse-jointed legs. Its shadow moves before it does. Our Fathers -Ep.3 Beta- -Warped Animation-
The chains snap. The Beta- stands up. It grows to fill the screen. The eye dilates until the pupil is a black hole. FINAL SCENE: BROADCAST INTERRUPT Visual: A live action, low-res shot of a suburban living room. 3 AM. A TV is on. The Emergency Broadcast System tone blares.
The camera pans over a row of Beta-Father units. They look like the original Father (tall, shadowy, smiling crescent moon eyes), but their textures are corrupted. They are made of burlap and rust. Their teeth are piano keys.
“Lonely. LONELY. L O N E L Y.”
A thousand children singing “You Are My Sun” in reverse.
“Hush little unit, don’t you cry... Daddy’s going to keep you safe inside...” SCENE 4: THE WARPED INSTRUCTIONAL Visual: A cut to a 90s-style infomercial. A cheerful, faceless host points to a chalkboard.
“You are the child now.” [END EPISODE] “But we forgot one thing
The Beta-Father’s smile widens horizontally until it splits its cheeks. From the split, instead of blood, old 8-bit text scrolls out: ERROR: HUNGER_VARIABLE_NOT_FOUND .
“Hello, little one. Are you... hungry?”
