“Dongles don’t just die,” Halder snapped. “Fix it.”
“Halder,” she said, her voice tighter. “It’s not the dongle. It’s the activation. Either the file is corrupted or the dongle died.”
He guided her through it. She was to open the system registry—a dark forest of keys and values no sane operator ever entered. She was to find a specific folder: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Siemens\Automation\LicenseManager .
