It analyzes legal frameworks under the Indian Copyright Act, 1957, and the Cinematograph Act, 1952, alongside user motivations for accessing pirated content. Findings suggest that while piracy reduces legitimate streaming subscriptions, it also expands audience reach for under-marketed dubbed films. The paper concludes with anti-piracy strategies and digital literacy recommendations.
