Instead, he ends up crashing with his estranged, eccentric mother (Tiffany Haddish) and failing miserably at magic auditions. Broke and desperate, he stumbles onto a seedy strip-club stage and accidentally wows the crowd—not with magic, but with an unintentional, awkward striptease.

Enter Luther (Wesley Snipes), a now-weary hotel security guard who, it turns out, was once the fiery frontman of “The Chocolate Chipz”—a legendary Black male revue from the ‘90s.
