Al-Istibsar (الاستبصار) is a major Hadith collection by Shaykh al-Tusi (d. 1067 CE), a prominent Twelver Shi'a scholar. It is one of the "Four Books" ( Al-Kutub al-Arba'ah ) of Shi'a Islam. The full title is Al-Istibsar fima ikhtalafa min al-akhbar ("Reflection upon the Discrepant Reports"). It organizes hadiths that appear contradictory and provides harmonizing interpretations.
