Akshay Kumar Movie Sooryavanshi -
When a film opens with a disclaimer about “no logic, only logic-defying stunts,” you know exactly what you’re in for. Sooryavanshi is the fourth installment in Rohit Shetty’s popular “Cop Universe,” following the Singham and Simmba films. Starring Akshay Kumar in the titular role, the movie delivers exactly what it promises: loud, proud, and packed with gravity-defying action, but with a few familiar speed bumps along the way. The story follows DCP Veer Sooryavanshi (Akshay Kumar), the head of India’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) in Mumbai. He is on the trail of a massive conspiracy involving a sleeper cell of terrorists plotting a series of coordinated attacks on the city. The plot, which ties back to the 1993 Bombay bombings and the 2008 Mumbai attacks, resurrects a familiar villain—Omar Hafeez (played with menacing calm by Jackie Shroff)—and his son, Riyaaz (Kumud Mishra).
If you’re looking for a gritty, realistic police drama, look elsewhere. But if you want to turn off your brain, watch cars fly, and see three of Bollywood’s biggest stars share the screen with swagger, Sooryavanshi is a satisfying, if flawed, ride. akshay kumar movie sooryavanshi
