In real life, the person who is “adorkably unstable” at 2 a.m. is the same person who will gaslight you by noon. The “quirky” mood swings become emotional whiplash. The “passionate” jealousy becomes isolation.

Because we all know someone like that, don’t we?

But adorável psicose as a cultural concept? That’s something else entirely.

So let’s admire the fictional chaos from the safety of our couches. Let’s enjoy Harley and Villanelle and the beautiful messes on our screens. But in our own lives? Let’s choose the person who is kind when they’re tired. Stable when they’re angry. Loving without being obsessive.

Therapy is not the enemy of authenticity. Medication (if needed) is not a betrayal of your “real self.” Learning to regulate your emotions doesn’t make you boring — it makes you safe to be around.

Save the adorable psychosis for fiction.

Adorável psicose makes a great story. But you are not a story. You are a life. And you deserve someone who adds to your peace, not someone who sets it on fire because fire is “more interesting.”

The fantasy is seductive. But the reality? Exhausting.
