Beto woke up with a start. "Why is my hair… cool again?" He touched his spiky frosted tips.
Leo climbed out of the tub, dripping glowing water. The street looked the same but different—smaller cars, a Blockbuster sign in the distance, and across the yard, a teenage version of his own mother hanging laundry.
"Absolutely not," Beto said. "But I'm installing subtitles on my whole life. That was useful."
