Patients seeking non-surgical, non-pharmacological care frequently encounter two primary professions: osteopathy (DO or DO – in some regions, or non-physician osteopaths) and physiotherapy (PT). Despite overlapping treatment modalities—such as soft tissue massage, joint mobilization, and exercise therapy—fundamental differences exist in training, diagnosis, and treatment philosophy. This paper aims to clarify these differences and evaluate their clinical relevance.
